Apple Self Service Repair program

Apple has announced a new Self Service Repair program, under which the company will begin selling parts to consumers for their iPhones or Macs. Initially, iPhone owners would be able to buy a replacement display, battery or camera module – the rest of the parts would become available later.

Apple said in an official announcement that the new program is intended for individual technicians with relevant knowledge and experience, and the vast majority of customers are still encouraged to contact a professional service center with certified specialists if necessary.

The program would be available for iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 in the United States. After some time, the company will start selling parts for the repair of Mac computers running on the Apple M1 processor. Customers can order necessary parts from the Apple Online Store and receive replacement instructions with the parts. Customers who return used components will receive discounts on future purchases.
