You can switch to a more powerful video card, but it is not always possible. The second option is to overclock your GPU. What tools do you need to use to overclocking GPU?

How to overclock GPU?

On the left, you can see GPU Clock and Mem Clock. These two values are responsible for clock and memory. On the right, you can see the temperature of your GPU. Don’t make it above 85-90 degrees. This is a very high-temperature value which should be avoided.

On the home screen, you can see the main sliders that are responsible for the overclocking of the GPU.
Core Voltage – video card voltage level. It is often not available on new models.
Power Limit – a very important parameter that increases the power consumption of the graphics card. If by default it consumes 150 watts, you can raise this value to 190 by setting it to 95. This is an additional overclocking which will increase the temperature.
Core Clock – this is the parameter that you will use a lot. Here you specify the clock you need.
The Memory Clock is the same as the core clock, but it is responsible for the amount of memory the GPU uses.

Check your current settings
Run FurMark and check your values
You will be able to see all initial values of the most important parameters (performance, frequency, temperature). Make a note of these data on paper or an image.
Start overclock GPU cheap
Change the Core Clock value by 3-5% and see how your PC will behave. At this level, there should not be any major changes, but it will help to understand what problems may arise in the future.
Change the value of the memory
No less important parameter. A value of less than 10% should give you stable performance. Start with 70-100 MHz. If at these values, your computer turns off or behaves strangely, and bad artifacts appeared in games, then your devices can not be accelerated or you need to raise the temperature.
Start settings up
Now it’s sample and test time. Raise the GPU Clock value by 10 MHz and do the tests. Don’t put the values right away, raise it a little bit. Do it again and again. Use the stress test utility to check all values. After that, try to run your favorite game and spend some time in it. Check for stability problems and changes in the FPS.
When you encounter that your computer has stopped or rebooted, you will realize that this is your limit. Put the value at 5-10 MHz below. If you leave the limit, you will have problems after a few hours in the game.
After that, change the Memory Clock value in the same way. Don’t change both values at the same time, otherwise you won’t know where is the problem.
Change the power limit
Once you find your limit, you can stop. But as a rule, most enthusiasts can’t say “stop” before getting the maximum result. Therefore, there are other options for such people. Try to play with Power Limit and Temp. Limit.
It’s time to start the game. Now your fans should run louder and the video card will not lower the clock.

If the overclocking of GPU is correct, your frequency will not fall below the set value. You need to find a balance in all values, then everything will work fine regardless of the time which you spent in the game.

Will it make real difference?
The answer is yes! It depends on several factors. It depends on your GPU and the games you want to play. The whole point is to achieve 60 frames per second in the games. You won’t see too much difference if you raise frames per second from 60. If your favorite game works at 40-50 fps, overclocking will help you fix it.
What mistakes you should avoid during overclocking of GPU
Following our instructions, you will do great, but the main overclocking error is the random position of the sliders. This can lead to a deplorable result. There are a few points that you should pay attention to.
Do not overheat! The main thing is to keep an eye on the temperature of your GPU. You need a good cooling system for acceleration to work.
